Juniors at CDAS

The Club has an active junior scene and holds an annual "Junior Fish-in" event during the Club's closed season. The fish-in is a day where the Club tries to encourage some of if it's youngsters to take up fishing andis a good time for Junior members to tempt their friends to come over and se if they would like to take up fishing. Adult members are also invited to introduce a youngster to fishing. There is no need to worry about providing fishing tackle and bait as this can be provided on the day.

The fish-in is a fun day for youngsters and adults alike and at the end of the day a goody bag of various fishing related items is handed out to all those who particiated as a memento of the day.

As well as the Junior Fish-ins, the Club also holds 2 Junior Match Competitions which are restricted to Junior memebers only. Junior can also take part in other Club competitions including team events, providing they have obtained sufficient points for consideration.

In a further bid to encourage youngsters to take up fishing th Committee agreed at the last Annual General Meeting to introduce a new Bye-Law to allow Adult members to take a child (14 and under) fishing with them free of charge. The child must fish in he samw swim as the Adult member with one rod only and be under their constant supervision at all times. Night fishing is not permitted. The member must enter the child's name and date of visit into their Membership Book. A maximum of 6 visits per child per season is allowed. It is expected that if the youngster wishes to continue fishing at the Club's lakes then they become a full Junior Member.

The Club takes the safety of Junior members very seriously. As such, all Juniors are not permitted to night fish (7pm - 7am) on the Public Footpath bank alongside Long/Little Long/Quarry Lakes. Juniors must remain within the Societies locked gates in this area and not on the footpath where the general public can access.
